The Senate, consisting of the
Lecturers of the College, deals, subject to the super-
vision of the Court, with all matters concerning the
courses of study to be pursued, arrangements for pro-
fessional examinations, and the discipline of the College.
The General Council is a purely de-
liberative body, consisting of all persons holding office
or appointment in the College, the Licentiates, and
Benefactors of the College nominated to the General
Council by the Court. It elects a representative to the
Court, and also takes part in the election of the Rector.
The Lecturers are members of the
Medical profession practising in the Colony with other
gentlemen of scientific training and knowledge, who have
hitherto given their services without any remuneration
whatever,
The authorities of the Alice Memorial
and Nethersole Hospitals place certain rooms in these Insti
-tutions at the disposal of the College for the purposes
of lectures and demonstrations, and allow the teachers
and students the use of the wards for purposes of clinical
instruction.
