The Senate, consisting of the

Lecturers of the College, deals, subject to the super-

vision of the Court, with all matters concerning the

courses of study to be pursued, arrangements for pro-

fessional examinations, and the discipline of the College.

The General Council is a purely de-

liberative body, consisting of all persons holding office

or appointment in the College, the Licentiates, and

Benefactors of the College nominated to the General

Council by the Court. It elects a representative to the

Court, and also takes part in the election of the Rector.

The Lecturers are members of the

Medical profession practising in the Colony with other

gentlemen of scientific training and knowledge, who have

hitherto given their services without any remuneration

whatever,

The authorities of the Alice Memorial

and Nethersole Hospitals place certain rooms in these Insti

-tutions at the disposal of the College for the purposes

of lectures and demonstrations, and allow the teachers

and students the use of the wards for purposes of clinical

instruction.
